Recruitment drive: Hollywood Private Hospital welcoming back volunteers

Sep 07, 2022

Volunteers are returning to Hollywood Private Hospital, as COVID-19 restrictions ease.

Volunteer services manager Helen Morrell said volunteers make a real difference to the lives of patients, their visitors and to staff.

A variety of roles, such as those in patient support, the emergency department, buggy driving and front-of-house, are open and people interested in volunteering are encouraged to apply. There are even a couple of rare openings for therapy dogs and their owners.
“We are looking for volunteers who have a genuine interest in people, and who are willing and able to commit to volunteering on a regular basis.” Mrs Morrell said.

David Mountford has been volunteering at Hollywood for about seven years.

“The best part about the role is meeting so many different people,” Mr Mountford said.

Director of Clinical Services Karol Edge said volunteers are an integral part of the hospital community.

“Volunteers make a valuable contribution to the Hollywood team,” she said.

“They also have the opportunity to learn new skills in the largest hospital in WA and the biggest private hospital in Australia.”
