Training at Hollywood Private Hospital

Training is central to Hollywood Private Hospital's commitment to raising the standard of patient care.

Our commitment to teaching and our close links with Western Australia's universities make Hollywood Private Hospital unique amongst private hospitals in Australia.

We have always had a close affiliation with the University of Western Australia, including academic positions at professorial and senior lecturer levels in medicine, surgery, orthopaedics, urology and medical undergraduate teaching.

Hollywood Private Hospital also has affiliations with Curtin University of Technology, Murdoch University, Edith Cowan University and the University of Notre Dame for the undergraduate and post-graduate education of a range of allied health disciplines and nursing.

We were the first private hospital in Australia to employ a significant number of junior medical staff. Hollywood Private Hospital continues to provide 45 resident and registrar positions. We have accredited specialist training positions in the disciplines of general surgery, general medicine, urology, radiology, gastroenterology, psychiatry and palliative care.

Junior medical staff provide 24 hour onsite medical cover. This enables us to offer 24 hour service for acute care admissions and provide more complex surgery and treatment of a greater variety and complexity of medical conditions.

Ramsay Health Care WA has become an Accredited Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) course centre and now offers the ARC Advanced Life Support2 (ALS2) course. Dates and course application details are available from HPH - ARC.ALS ARCALS2.RHC@ramsayhealth.com.au.
